Joining Clyne
If you think you might have what it takes to become a part of the fast-paced world of modelling, you need to consider a few things. For one, today's models have very much become public figures. In some cases, model and celebrity go hand in hand and you need to be prepared to deal with intense media interest in both your professional and private life. On a smaller scale, the job can simply be very stressful and you may have to deal with several knock-backs before you get your break. Having the right look is not the only thing that's important - you need the right attitude to go with it.
The first thing to do is decide on your category - do you want to star in a television commercial or feature in a magazine advertisement? Would your two-year old be the perfect face for Treasures? Would you make a fantastic presenter or are you New Zealand's next international supermodel?
Clyne handles a wide variety of bodies and personalities. For models, the criteria is fairly strict, although not definite. You should be tall - for women, ideally between 5'7½" in and 5'11" in and for men, between 5'11" and 6'3". We take girls on from early teens, and guys from late teens. You need to be well-proportioned, in good shape, and have a look that is fresh, modern and unique. Your look is one that should make fashion photographers, stylists and magazines stop and take notice.
However, not all models are tall, slim and gorgeous. Clyne also sports a wide talent base - people with "character faces" that are quirky and interesting, and who draw the attention of those around them. Often clients are not looking for the commercial ideal and need a different type of person to fill their brief. Children up to the age of 14 are also represented at Clyne, as well as aspiring actors and presenters.
Applications should include several natural face and body shots as well as your measurements (age, height, weight, shoe size etc) and your name, address and contact number.
